What and Why

Except for the quotes at the bottom of this page, my website is largely static.  The articles are summarized below.

My belief in extraterrestrials is based on the incredible number of stars in the universe. As described in Calculating the Number of ETIs, even if we are alone in the Milky Way, there are so many galaxies we can not expect to be completely alone in the universe. My explanation of why extraterrestrials have not openly contacted us is presented in story form as A SETI Allegory. It is an explanation of how contact with an extraterrestrial could be detrimental to our own development and why a more advanced civilization might choose to preserve the natural process of advancement here on Earth.

Consider where Earth civilization is likely to go in the distant future and you might agree with The UETI Model, a speculation about the ultimate stage of extraterrestrial intelligence. It assumes Earth civilization will survive its youth and become something new and different. The technologies proposed in The UETI Model might never exist and are open to dispute but the progress of Earth civilization is almost inevitable.

Given the hypothetical power of the oldest UETIs, I was reminded by my childhood studies of the Christian bible. At the time it seemed so much like stories of an extraterrestrial intelligence I couldn't shake it as I grew up. This has been proposed before but I have put my own spin on it.

As codification of my beliefs, I created a religious dogma which espouses the Ultimate Extraterrestrial Intelligence as God Almighty. It is described in Definition of UETI-ism. I have spent my life contemplating theologies, particularly the Lord's Prayer attributed to Jesus. UETI-ism's religious dogma is rounded out with the tenets of this prayer. As a correction to what I believe is fundamentally wrong with modern Christianity, namely people blindly following those who claim to be closer to God than others, the edict to have no clergy was included.

Once The UETI Model and Definition of UETI-ism were established, it became a short step to postulating both a Heaven and a hell that could be created by my God, the UETI. On the Possibility of Heaven and Closing the Gates of Hell are stories about mechanisms for resurrecting the faithful children of God as well as disciplining the unrepentant.
